My name is Simon Cahn, i’m a French Filmmaker living in Paris. I began directing when I was 19 years old with a first experimental short film called “Prince Tribe”. After a few years living in New York, I returned to Paris to work on several directing jobs for international brands such as Nike, Hermès, Dior, Google, Louis Vuitton and Supreme.
In 2011, I co-directed and co-wrote a short film with director Spike Jonze called “Mourir Auprès de Toi”. The film was officially selected for the Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival, and Locarno Film Festival, London BFI Film Festival and many others. The film found great success winning awards at several festivals including Le Book or Dallas Film Festival.
As art director for French magazine Jalouse for 4 years, I also directed the short film “Une fille comme les Autres Part 2” for Jalouse & Diesel which was selected at ASVOFF festival (at Centre Pompidou, Paris) and shortlisted at the Young Directors Awards (Cannes 2013).
In 2013, I travelled across America as part of Levi’s “Station to Station” project to film and create “The Last Boxcar”, an encapsulating short film about Americana and its relationship with art and pop culture – the project was premiered exclusively on Nowness.
Lately, I directed music videos for artists such as Hanni El Khatib, We Are Shining, Fono and Denai Moore, one of the most exciting up and coming UK acts for 2015.
